Seafood paradise @ Changi Airport Terminal 2

In Eating out, Outside Dubai, singapore on September 21, 2011 at 10:30

Not my favorite place to eat after my unpleasant experience here not too long ago with a waitress who presented me with a wrong order who had then decided that what she served me was better than what I ordered and that I should eat what she served me. She refused to serve me what I ordered as she insists that she was correct!!! Who was she to decide what I should or shouldn’t eat??? The only reason I didn’t walk away that day is that my grandma was with me and I didn’t wish to alarm her halfway through her lunch.

My gosh, can’t believe I’m back here again. But well it was a lunch meeting with a client and he had chosen the location as he had a flight to catch later that afternoon.

Had decided to get the set meal and that was the seafood fried rice with 3 little side dishes. Side dish 1, 2 slices of smoked duck. Side dish 2, ham and veg. Side dish 3, smoked salmon with tomato salsa. The serving was huge but did not manage to capture the requisite smoky flavour that is essential for the fried rice.

Will I be back of my own will, I don’t think so. I feel that the taste paradise located in Terminal 1 provides much better food and service.

The Manhattan Fish Market

In Eating out, Outside Dubai, singapore on September 15, 2011 at 00:15

Had the groupon coupons for fish and chip at The Manhattan Fish Market and decided to give them a try for dinner.

The concept is pretty much like Fish and Co with fried fish dominating the menu. Was in the mood for a grease bomb so I went ahead with an order of fish and chips as well as a small seafood platter for sharing.

The calamari was nicely fried with a crispy batter coating and wasn’t too chewy. The shrimps were of a nice size and were pretty fresh. The mushrooms were ok but nothing to write home about.

They are pretty stingy with the sauces like tomato and chilli and tartar and this kind of affects the experience.

Our mains had finally arrived and I must say that it did look pretty promising. Sad to say though, as it had looked better than it had tasted. The fish was fishy and the fries were limp.

Would I be back again? I guess not. Not so good food coupled with not so good service makes The Manhattan Fish Market seem somewhat lacklustre compared to Fish and Co.

Pan fried Snow Cod served with sweet potato mash and veggies

In Eating out, Outside Dubai, thailand on August 29, 2011 at 09:01

What happens when meetings leave u drained of energy and u have yet another long day tomorrow with no end in sight? And a rain that never stops???

Its room service to the rescue!!! The Pan fried Snow Cod served with sweet potato mash and veggies came highly recommended by the ladies manning the room service hotline @ Novotel Airport Bangkok.

It took 25minutes for the food to arrive, just enough time for a quick bath and change of clothes yay!!!

I made it just in time for their last order for the day. No cold salad and tom yam soup for me!

The food arrive piping hot and that’s the antidote to a hard day’s work.

Nicely presented with a breadbasket and a side salad. Yummy … Fresh snow cod that is cooked to perfection and the mash provided a beautiful counterpoint to the cod!

The meal cost about 950 baht all inclusive but I can’t remember the breakdown …

Location: Novotel Airport Bangkok
