800 Pizza

In Eating out on August 11, 2010 at 08:59

Was driving around the neighbourhood looking around for something to try when we found this little Italian eatery located just a block away from the Mall of the Emirates.

They had the requisite wood fire oven and a seemingly Italian chef. This was this combination that made us decide on this place for dinner. They seemed to only have 7 tables in the outlet and only 3 were filled, were we too early for dinner or was dinner gonna be a wash out event?

Spoke to the family at the next table and realized reassuringly that they were Italian and this is one of their favourite spots for dinner. I’m pretty sure the food ain’t that bad when you had locals dining there on a regular basis. Their little girl recommended the tiramisu which I later ordered.

Service was warm but it seems that you need to place your orders at the counter. While waiting for the girl to take my order, it suddenly hit me that most of their business was delivery and takeout as I had to wait for the phone to stop ringing so that the girl could take my order.

Chef @ work with woodfire oven …

Ordered a seafood pizza and tiramisu …

The seafood pizza came with an assortment fresh shrimp, clams and calamari … think thin crust just the way I like it!

The tiramisu was spot on … just no alcohol but I must say that it is a nice non-alcoholic version.

Will food like that, I will be keeping their delivery hotline on my speed dial!
