Silver Eagle Restaurant

Had visitors from Singapore last week but as I’m still quite new, I wasn’t appointed to be the host. I could just tag along and enjoy yet another yummy meal! The menu consists of mainly Pakistani home cuisine.

This restaurant is located in the working class area of Dubai and there are many workers from the Indian subcontinent living there, it reminded me of little India on a Sunday. This restaurant is the supposedly favorite meal haunt of the Singapore Airlines Cabin Crew, the joke is that there is even a section of the restaurant/cafe that is reserved exclusively for them.

This little eatery may not be much to look at, it may remind you of a little canteen or cafeteria of the sixties or seventies that time has forgotten but don’t judge it till you try the food they serve.

The salad, good crisp and wholesome vegetables served with a twist of lime.

The hot and sour soup tasted of chicken stock that was yummy and had a solid home-cooked taste.

The mutton briyani was good, flavorful with a nice spicy kick!

The fried fish was spot on, crispy and brings the taste of the sea to you.

The fried chicken was tender and well-marinated with a whole load of spices.

The lamb curry would be kinda spicy if you are unable to take spicy food, please avoid this dish!

The dinner was paid for by our guest from Singapore and guess what? A meal for 5 people only set him back by AED144 or about SGD$55. With prices so reasonable and food so good, you can be sure that I will be back, well at least I will be back after I get my license and get the directions to this place.
